About Edges
Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world.
~Arthur Schopenhauer
That’s why flinty edges are more productive for writers than comfortable centers; exploring edges widens your perspective and adds depth to your words.
I’m Judy Harper. I write on the edge, where I look out over as much of my world as possible, while recognizing that my world does not necessarily describe yours.
In mid-October, a friend (I’ll call her Kate) initiated a discussion about working solo. It is, she said, often very effective, but being exclusively on your own can be isolating and stifling. When she concluded, “I need colleagues,” Kate struck a resonant chord with me.
I write on the edge, where I have a vantage point from which to view and experience my world. If you, too, write on the edge, maybe each of us can see far enough to glimpse common ground, share experiences, and expand both our worlds.
I write on the edge, from which I can publish words that speak to minds and touch hearts-mine as well as yours.
I write on the edge. Here’s some of my stuff. Wanna share some of yours?
